Enhance treatment programmes
In line with the increasing evidence base in the addiction field regarding the effectiveness of manual driven interventions. These include Motivational Enhancement Therapy and Social and Behavioural Network Therapy.
Motivational Enhancement Therapy is designated primarily to enhance a person's motivation to change, as well as their belief in their ability to make changes. With the end goal being that the person is able to make changes to their drinking behaviour.
Social and Behavioural Network Therapy is designed to have a greater focus on enhancing social support to create behaviour change. This therapy involves having members of the 'support network' in the session, encouraging them to continue work begun in the session.
All therapy is also offered in a stepped care fashion, meaning that the person is offered a minimal intervention initially. The intensity of intervention is then increased as required by the person seen. Discharges from the service occur when the person and therapist agree that treatment is complete.
