The Task Group agreed for an external agency to work with service users to create, design and deliver a Service User Led Survey:

The User Experience Workgroup of the Commissioning for Outcomes project is charged with establishing a set of metrics for service user experience of Substance Misuse treatment - to form part of a Balanced Scorecard - and a method by which they can be measured. This will allow assessment of how good or effective the treatment experience is for the Substance Misuse service user in the Wakefield area from their own perspective.

Outcome measures

The outcome measures to be assessed for the Service User are;

1. Personal Development i.e., reduction in illicit drug use, reduction in injecting, physical health status
2. Professional Development i.e., engagement in education, training or employment
3. Reintegration and rehabilitation i.e., housing, engagement with family, psychological health status

Methodology

Service User led survey of service users conducted face-to-face using a paper questionnaire.
