Support in hospital

We have a liaison nurse at The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust dedicated to offering support and guidance to patients, service users and staff in relation to the management of alcohol and substance misuse. 

The liaison nurse assesses patients and service users, usually within the hospital setting and provides information, advice, support or referral according to their concerns. The nurse also provides healthcare staff with advice on how they can best manage a patients’ substance misuse, according to national guidance and best practice.
