Turning Point

Turning lives around, every day

Turning Point is the UK's leading social care organisation and now operates over 200 services from 244 different locations, 138 of which are residential offering around 800 bed spaces at any one time. In the 41 years since we started with a single project working with street drinkers in Camberwell, South London, we have extended our reach country wide and expanded our services to encompass a complex range of needs. We deliver services across the sectors of substance misuse, mental health and employment.

Turning Point has been running services in Wakefield for over 20 years and delivers the Adult Community Drug Treatment services and the Criminal Justice Drug treatment services including DIP and DRR. We also deliver the Structured Day Programme for Wakefield, the Progress to Work contract and the Alcohol Service contract - including ATRs. Our Adult Community Drug Treatment services also deliver the needle exchange and outreach services for the district.

We've been at the forefront of innovation within the district over the years and are proud to be a partner within Wakefield Integrated Substance Misuse Services. We employ approximately 80% of the adult treatment staff within the district and at any given time provide services to around 2000 Wakefield residents.

The starting point for our services is always the person who might need them. Real people don't sit neatly within service categories so Turning Point has grown around their needs - rather than our need to be neat.
