Service description
Turning Point provides a range of services across Wakefield and District for anyone experiencing problems with their own or another’s drug use. This service is available for anyone concerned about their use of illicit use or prescribed drugs, offering support to reduce or stop drug use or minimise some of the harmful effects of drug taking.
Services are designed to help people to make informed decisions about their treatment options, we provide:
- 1:1 support, advise and information
- Liaison with other agencies (e.g. housing, Social Services, Probation)
- Specific liaison with GPs regarding treatment
- Complimentary therapies
- Assessment and referral to residential rehab services if necessary
- Hepatitis vaccinations and screening
- Specialist prescribing
- Needle exchange and harm reduction
- Outreach services
Referral Pathways
Self referral or by professionals; this can be either through written referral, telephone contact or attending drop ins at each service.
