Service Description

Working as a multi-disciplinary team, offering a range of interventions for Class A drug users involved in the criminal justice system. Managing through point of arrest on a 12 week programme aiming to reduce drug related crime through treatment.

Throughcare

DIR assessment, Harm reduction interventions and alcohol interventions delivered at point of arrest in Wakefield and Pontefract police stations.

Pre release prison visits incorporating direct access into DIP on release and continuation of prescribing, Overdose awareness and harm reduction advice.

Outreach service which aims to re engage clients back into the 12 week DIP programme if clients fail to attend.

Tracking through both Wakefield and Pontefract magistrate courts of Restricted bail clients, ensuring all options are explored for engagement into treatment.

Required assessments completed for those arrested out of the hours covered in the custody suites.

Aftercare

Voluntary, semi coerced and coercive referrals received into the service. Comprehensive treatment assessment & Follow up assessments (RA4), Well-being assessment and a range of interventions, we provide 3 specialist GP clinics per week providing Tier 3 treatment for a minimum of twelve weeks, Specialist housing worker with referral pathways to Langley House trust (LHT) and WISP (for IOM clients). Dual diagnosis and Alcohol clinics provided weekly on site. A range of psychosocial interventions offered as appropriate. A structured 10 week (twice weekly) Groupwork programme delivered on a rolling basis. Referrals to structured day programme and P2W as part of the programme. We work closely with the police for those in coercive treatment who are subject to breach proceedings and for those in semi coercive treatment to retain them in services.
